Buying and Selling Restaurant Equipment Equals Big Money

If you are looking to make a lot of money in a field that few people dare to dive into then you should look at buying and reselling restaurant equipment.

You can go out to local auctions or store closeouts and purchase used restaurant equipment for pennies on the dollar.  You can find items such as Hobart Mixers or Beverage Air Coolers and steal them away for a couple of hundred bucks.  You will need about a thousand to get a decent start in the business, but you might look for an investor to really give you business a huge push.  Once you have purchased your first lot of items from your local auction then it is time to clean up the equipment and then test it.  A little elbow grease will go a long way, and you can increase the worth of your product just by taking the clean the grease off of it.  Then plug the item in and check to see if it works, if it does you will pull in double to triple what you paid for, and if it does not work then you can just sell it broke, and still make a couple of bucks off the item.

The biggest problem with selling restaurant equipment is space.  You need to move the equipment fast enough so that you are not wasting space, and you are profiting even with the cost of storage.  With that said you can always start with your garage and work up to a storage unit, and then when you are up to the big boys you can purchase a warehouse.

If you are looking to get started in business then you need to learn about the different brands, and also you need to learn everything you can about ebay.  Ebay is the easiest way to branch out nationwide. You will also need to learn about freight and how to freight an item, and be sure to watch you cost.  You can many times shop the different freight companies and find one that will work with you at a discount if you are going to give them a lot of return business.

I think this is one of the biggest money making businesses that you can start with low capitol, and build up.  I don't believe in starting in the hole, so I would start with one auction and build up from that.  I have friends in this business that I work with and they can do 25,000 in sales in a couple of days on eBay.  It is important that you understand this business is a lot of hard work. But, if you work it correctly you can reap the benefits of success.

So, if you are looking for a huge return on your money, and don't mind working for it, then you should take interest in restaurant equipment.  Remember buy used because it's cheaper and has a higher profit margin.  EBay is your best friend in this business, and I would advise you to find someone that is doing this already and see if they will show you the rope of the business, and try to get a jump start.

Business systems – what are they?

You may have heard about them before, but never quite thought about how they can help you personally. They seem to be an ambiguous element of the business world, and when they are discussed, always seem to be this…thing…that other companies and organizations do.

What I am referring to is Business Systems

From the beginning of modern capitalism in our society, the most successful companies were those that developed a system, or group of systems, to complete their tasks and meet the needs of their customers. Take Henry Ford and the Ford Company, for example. Mr Ford obviously realized the power of developing and implementing a system that saw his Model T Ford produced quicker and more efficiently as his company grew. His never-ending approach to finding a simpler and more effective method of completing a task pioneered the way for many major corporations, and helped Ford stay competitive in the motor vehicle business.

But, most people in business don't make cars. In fact, they most likely sell clothes, books, time (through a job), commodity goods, intellect (through consulting), and so on. But, what particular business systems could possibly put into practice that will see their organisation become more proficient, easier to manage and produce better results for their customers?

A system can be defined as methods, organisation, or considered principles of procedure (Oxford Dictionary). And throughout your daily activities, there are certain tasks that you do every day or often enough that you have a certain way of doing them.

So, what types of activities could you systemize or create “considered principles of procedure” for, that will enable your organisation to be more efficient?

Emails - there are most likely a number of emails that arrive in your inbox daily or weekly, that you can create a system for processing them. Set up rules or commands in your email processor that automatically places emails from specific people into topic-related folders. For example, email newsletters into the folder for that email newsletter. As the emails arrive, they will be filtered through this system, and your inbox will not be overly cluttered with emails from many different topics.

Staff training - Do you have a specific approach to how you train new staff? Is it documented the steps that you take to educate the new staff member about your business, its goals, the OH&S discussion? Even if you don't have staff yet, imagine what you must put into a system for when you do. Make a list of all the steps in the staff training process - almost like a checklist. This alone will help you to train your staff in a systematic way that leaves little to no room for forgetting an important part of their induction.

Inventory management - Inventory control and management is a large part of many organisations. There have been numerous software packages created that assist companies in managing their physical stock. If you have large stock levels, then consider investing in these established software systems for the business. If not, then spend some time breaking down those typical steps that are taken in the stock control, stock ordering and quality control procedures. When is the stock checked for minim quantity levels? What is the minimum order of stock for each item? Is there a procedure that checks the stock when it arrives from the manufacturer, ensuring a minimal loss of damaged goods, and ultimately upset customers? A good way to start this is to also make a list of those things that need to be managed and monitored on a regular basis.

Sales process - if you are involved in selling in any way, then you most likely have an approach that works for you already. However, what if there are 4 sales people all selling the same product, and all selling it totally differently? Of course, a human being's personality must be allowed to shine through, but there are going to be specific tasks that every sales person must carry out to maintain the image of the company. Write these tasks down. Spell out exactly what the staff member must do, say, wear, act like, and so on, so that every customer can come to expect the same level of service and approach from each member of your sales team. Create a system that they earn, rather than hoping they will make sales in their own way using their own methods.

The reality is you are already operating a number of systems in your organisation. These are sometimes referred to as habits. The way you manage your files, phone calls and even how you make your tea or coffee are all systems. However, to be truly successful in a business, you need to record and officially structure these systems so that the organisation continues to function without your presence - for example, when you are on holiday.

Then, all your hard work and effort in creating a business that your customers have grown to depend on will not be wasted. Others can continue doing exactly the same thing, in exactly the same way, for many more years to come.

Buy Panama Real Estate With a Self Directed IRA

Introduction - Did you know that a self directed IRA can buy your dream Panama Real Estate? This article while not tax or legal advice will get you pointed in the right direction in terms of using your Self Directed IRA to buy Panama land, condos, homes, or even commercial property.

IRA Custodian Resistance - Most of the custodians will not approve the purchase of foreign real estate. They prefer to sell you investments they offer instead. There is actually no prohibition in the IRS code against investing in foreign real estate. So do not let the custodian deceive you into thinking it cannot be done, they just do not want to do it.

Custodian Problems - One of their problems is the valuation of the house. They do not know how to do this. Did you get a large kickback from the acquisition of the property thus affecting a deceitful and unlawful early withdrawal without penalty? What about a real estate commission you received. You are also not supposed to live in the home acquired through a self?directed IRA. How will the custodian enforce this? What if you live in the home on vacations only? What if you rent the home out and do not tell anyone? What if you use the home to trade homes with using a service that will let you swap homes with others in other countries for six months or a year at a time? The custodian cannot detect all these games one could incorrectly play so they prefer not to get involved and it is always better to earn a commission on something they sell you.

Custodian Control - One needs to make sure the custodian lets you invest in investments of your choosing, not theirs. You want to be able to write the checks for investments.

IRA as an LLC - This seems to solve a lot of the problems with the custodians. An LLC is structured utilizing the Self -Directed IRA as the owner of said LLC. The monies would then be put into the LLC, which would in turn purchase the real estate investment(s) foreign or domestic.

Mortgages, IRA's, LLC's, Foreign Real Estate - Yes you can have a mortgage on the property. The debt?recorded instrument has to be a non?recourse promissory note.

Profits - These are to be credited back to the IRA.

Taxes - The IRA has to have enough money to pay for the taxes, property maintenance and upkeep such as condo association fees.

Business Start-up Costs

If you are considering starting your own business, then you have no doubt considered the investment required for various business start-up costs. The first thing you need to do is find a market that your business can be successful in. Next you must look at approximately how much it will cost you in just basic business start-up costs; business licenses, lawyer consult fees and form preparation fees, accountant fees/accounting programs, inventory costs, business insurance, leases, and utilities are just a few of the standard traditional business start-up costs. You must also consider how you are going to support yourself and your family while you venture takes off; this could be at least two to three months, and you want to make sure you can pay your mortgage, all your bills, feed your kids, and have a little extra left over for incidentals, in addition to business start-up costs.

If you choose to not have a physical location for your business, you may want to consider offering your goods and services via a website or mail order catalog. This is a great way to reach a large audience all at once, but business start-up costs associated with this mode of doing business can be expensive as well. By the time you pay someone to create your website, host it, register your domain name, and start a merchant account, you have made quite an expenditure, unless of course you are capable of building your own website, which many people are. Yahoo! offers web hosting, domain name registration, business email, and store front options for a very reasonable price worth checking out. This is a great way to save on some of those business start-up costs that could otherwise break the bank.

The traditional way that business has been conducted in this country has changed dramatically since the advent of the World Wide Web, opening the door for a number of new ways to conduct business. You no longer have to have a physical storefront address to sell your goods or services, a rather archaic point of view. More and more people are buying goods and services on the internet, which is a great place to feature your business while keeping your business start up costs at a minimum. You don’t need to lease that 900 square foot shop for $2800 a month to sell what you can sell just as easily with a website and a little marketing campaign. Business start-up costs do not have to be astronomical, in fact, they can be quite the opposite. You can visit a number of online sources that offer an abundance of information on business start-ups costs and links to essential sites that can help you get your business up and running!

Business School: Is It Really Necessary?

School in general has become a much more expected and in my opinioned marketed thing than it was in the past. So it is no surprise that the question of the necessity of business school come up fairly regularly. What does surprise me is that people that are business minded are so easily swayed into believing that formal training in business (the quality of which I often question) is necessary to make it in the fast pace business that comes with a globalizing market and the information age that we live in. The question remains, however, and I want to point out two things that will hopefully answer it. They are myths of business school that are often cited but have little evidence to back them up.

The first is that you receive an education in business school that will prepare you for the real world. It is my contention however that you really don’t learn the bulk of what it takes to thrive in business sitting in a classroom listening to the lecture. What you do learn is the language of business so that you may pick things up faster but is learning the language faster a justification for the time and expense of formal training. I will admit that most people that go through business school have an easy transition into the real world but my contention is still that this is no because they sat through class. The way business schools have gotten away with this is that they require their students to do internships.

This really is a fleecing when you consider that these students are actually out in the real world getting their education, paid horribly, and then paying the institution that requires this slave labor and is taking credit for the education ungodly amounts of money. It cracks me up that the most common complaint especially for those who want to start their own business that they don’t have the capitol. I say, you had the capitol, you just gave it away!

The second myth is that business school is a good training for every type of business and every position within those businesses. My contention is that business school is only smart for those who want to become a CEO of a major company. This is only because of the connections that you gain in business school, that land you the high profile internships, which get you in contact with the right people etc. If you want to run a small business with a unique product I would suggest that you spend more time developing your product and less time wasted in school. You will gain the business savvy in a few years once you are up and running any way and you won’t have wasted a lot of time and money. My number one example of this is Bill Gates, a fine businessman, one of the richest men in the world, and yet does not have a college degree to his name. Chew on that for a while and maybe you will change your mind.

Business Plans - What Do They Include?

Ok... so you've finally reached that stage in the development of your home business to get started. You've done the research, you have a game plan and you're ready to go except for one small detail... you need money. Whether it comes from a loan or from investors it doesn't matter but you need a good dose of seed money to put all your hard work and planning into action. However, regardless of who hears your money pitch before they give you a dime they will want see your business plan.

Business Plan - What Is It?
A good way to think of a business plan is that's it's a document that provide answers to the type of questions anyone who may provide financing would like to know about your home business. You will not get outside funding without one, because the people giving you the funding will insist on one because it helps them to know that you’ve thought through what you’re proposing to do. A business plan says to them... "I’ve considered this from every angle, and here’s what I’ve come up with".

Business Plan - What Does It Include?
What is your product or service? This is the first question every business plan should answer. You must explain in the clear, concise language what in the world you plan to produce or what service you plan to provide. You will also want to include why you've chosen this particular product or service.

Who are Your Customers? After you've explained your product or service, the next step is to identify who you plan to sell your product or service too and why. The demographics (age, sex, language, country, state or city, income, etc.) You need to clearly identify your customers in order to properly target your advertising, packaging, pricing, et.

What Makes You Different? You need to identify the "primary factors" that will make your business different than other businesses you'll be competing with. What niche are you filling that they are not or what do you plan to do to fill a particular void in the market that you've identified?

What are Your Expenses? Your start-up expenses include any equipment that you need before you can get up-and-running, while your day-to-day expenses are staff costs and supplies.

Following is a Simplified Example of Business Plan
This a a simplified and shortened version of a business plan. In the real world... each one of the following sections would be 1 - 2 pages in length. That being said... in most instances it's better to be as brief as possible. Only add information if your potential backers request it. It's a bad idea to go into too much detail in your plan. You’re not trying to explain everything down to the nth detail, just the basics of the business and why they should give you the money you need to launch it. And always focus on profit.

Catering Plus
Nature of Business: The business will be a home-based catering company, producing luxury food for special occasions such as birthdays and weddings. We will provide a comprehensive catering service, while specializing in high end customized cakes, which have a higher profit margin than other foods.

Target Market: Our catering business will be aimed at middle-class customers who desire a top-of-the-line catering but must operate on a budget. Our initial market area will consist of Mytown and the affluent area of Theretown.

Key Factors: We will only use commerical grade ingredients purchased from wholesalers and provide top quality design and service. This will allow us to provide food that looks tastes great, while keeping costs as low as possible.

Expenses: Beause I will be using my kitchen and making the food myself, there are only two real expenses: The purchase of an industrial grade mixer and then the day-to-day cost of supplies. I've attached a suppliers’ letter listing prices. Our research has shown that this supplier offers the best value for start-ups.

To wrap it up, you should include a breakdown of both projected profit and loss per month (in graph form)for the first year in business. Show one-time and day-to-day expenses versus projected profit to indicate how you will pay-off your loan. Your business plan should show you making enough of a profit each month to live on – if it doesn’t, then it may be considered unfeasible.

Study a Few Real-World Business Plans
The best way to get a real a feel for the dos and do nots of a business plans is to find real-world plans that have already been approved and study them. A good place to start is the internet. Once you’ve studied a few, you will get a better feel for how much work will be involved in putting your business plan together. Remember, until your business exists for real, the business plan is the only tool you have to sell prospective backers on how great your business is going to be.

Business Financing Made Simple

Do you have a new or growing business? If you do, sooner or later you will need business financing. Of course, if you are like most business owners, your first inclination might be to look for a business loan. Unfortunately, business loans can be very hard to get, take weeks to set up and don’t fit too well with most businesses. You might be better off looking for alternative business financing products.

I am going to discuss two alternative business financing products. As opposed to the traditional business loan, they are easy to obtain, can be set up in days, and they grow as your business grows.

<b>Invoice Factoring</b>

If your biggest business financing challenge is that you have clients who take as long as 60 days to pay their invoices, then the solution is to factor your invoices. Factoring, or invoice factoring as it is often called, accelerates your clients’ invoice payments and gets you paid in about 2 days. Factoring does not involve changing your customers’ payment habits, but rather, financing your slow paying invoices through a factoring company. With factoring, you can capitalize on your invoices and get the funds you need to meet payroll and pay suppliers.

<b>Purchase Order Financing</b>

If you are a reseller or wholesaler and your biggest challenge is that you cannot afford to pay your suppliers, then purchase order financing is the best tool for you. Purchase order financing provides you with the necessary funds to pay your suppliers (usually by a letter of credit). This enables you to buy the goods to fulfill your orders and make the sale.

Both purchase order financing and invoice factoring can be obtained from a factoring company (rather than a bank). Both solutions are very affordable, but they work best when the business has profit margins of 15% or more.

So, if you own a business that needs financing, be sure to look at these non-traditional business financing tools.

Business fight for teeth whitening customers

Consumers in the UK are demanding the highest standards and lowest costs for everything, and sometimes in economics quality is reduced to meet the customer demands but could this be happening in the teeth whitening industry?

As more and more specialists come in to any business normally prices are slashed to ensure competitiveness but could this be at the detriment of customer service and satisfaction and this is what is required to ensure the industry maintains customer confidence.

Customers are very fickle and why not? As there is no shortage of suppliers and this creates the fun as businesses fight for business.
In the past few years the rise of the laser teeth whitening industry has been dramatic but many ask whether the results are fact or fiction.

Along with many other forms of beauty treatments and ways to improve your wellbeing and generally make yourself feel better laser teeth treatment is now a popular treatment for many who strive for personal improvement and a whiter smile.

Teeth whitening is now something that many people are having done and is also very popular as people desire their teeth to look like the celebrities and A-list stars like Britney and Simon Cowell who want to look their best but in most cases the stars will have veneers
It won't improve your health; it's simply a cosmetic job which lightens the stains on your teeth. So why have your teeth gone stained and yellow? It's most likely to be due to smoking, drinking coffee, Red wine, tea and cola. Your teeth have pores on the enamel which hold onto these stains and normal every-day brushing isn't enough to remove the staining and give them the bright white look.

Discoloration can also occur with age. Stains can appear over time from the inside because of excess fluoride and possibly medication. Tooth whitening will deal with the stains which lie on the outside of your teeth and it needs to be done on a regular basis.

Just look at any movie star. If their teeth are as brilliant as diamonds, chances are that they are taking advantage of one of the two laser teeth whitening systems currently available. When you choose to visit your laser teeth whitening specialist then the chances are they will check your teeth for suitability before commencing work to ensure optimum results.
Many famous people like the movie stars will pay a premium for veneers as this gives the white bright smile that lasts without having to change your daily habits that created the stains in the first place. These include nicotine, caffeine, tea, red wine and gravy.

Whatever your view on teeth whitening the hope in the industry is there is a regulatory body that manages the expectations and standards so customers get the very best of both worlds.

Business Expense Reports

Business Expense Reports are the records of all the expenses incurred by the employees, top level to supervisory level, during their business visits on behalf of the companies. For this purpose, the business organizations should have standard business expense report forms. Nowadays, most of the companies are implementing web-based expense report software like Expense Management Automation (EMA), which automates and quickens the submission, approval and reimbursement processes of the business expense reports.

According to Aberdeen’s research group, EMA helps the business organization in reducing the time required for filling up the expense report by 60%, in decreasing the cost of processing a business expense report by 80% and also in cutting the time required for meeting the claim by 90%. This particular software is supplied by a large number of companies, namely Acceleron, PeopleSoft, SAP, Gelco, Oracle, etc. This software integrates all the processes starting from completing the expense report to receipt processing.

It is true that the employees’ expenses during their business visits occupy a vital role in the total expenses of the business organizations after salaries. According to one survey conducted by a popular Boston-based research organization, it is reported that for every five dollars a company spends, one dollar will be towards employee travel expenses. So companies are taking a very hard look at these expenses. It is observed that most of the business executives are relying on the travel agencies and credit card companies like American Express and Visa International for travel arrangements like ticket booking, hotel accommodations, etc. But, instead, if they make all these arrangements online, there would be a significant cost savings. As per one research survey, such online activity can cut costs by 20 percent. Therefore, online systems are a cost-effective means of controlling travel-related expenses. For trimming the costs, some companies committing to employee-friendly travel policies with their favorite carriers, who will offer discount rates.

Business Entity Options

When forming your new business structure, you must consider the best possible alternative of the available business structures.  While a sole proprietorship is the easiest type to create, there is no separate identity.  Personal liability belongs to the owner.  Should there be a lawsuit, accident or you incur debts that you can’t repay, your personal assets are at risk.

The type of entity you choose should be based on careful consideration.  Each state has specific rules for the structure of each type of entity.  You should investigate the type of entity, the rules and laws pertaining to each in your state and at a federal level.

The choices are – sole proprietorship, partnership, limited liability partnership, corporation, C corporation, S corporation, and  LLCs.  Sole proprietorship provides the least protection while corporations and LLCs offer limited personal liability for debts or judgments against the company.

When creating your entity, you should use an attorney to create written documentation of the entity’s organization and structure.  Your attorney, accountant or CPA can advise you of the legal and all tax consequences of your choice.  Doing a little research prior to contacting a professional will reduce the time spent with an expensive professional.  Do your due diligence to protect yourself and your family.

Business Cards That Boost Your Sales

A business card is a great way to introduce your company name to a potential client and then in turn they will always have your name and number handy. This brings your company into your client’s world as a household name for your customers for their future needs or as a word of mouth company to pass on to their friends and family. Business cards that boost your sales need to be given out to every person you come in contact with or anyone who becomes interested in your company and the service that you provide. A business card should also have an eye-catching design and it should be memorable to help your business profit more.

Let us say that you are in the real estate business. A business card is extremely necessary in that line of work. Your name will be remembered when your customer is given your card and then they will have it to keep around and refer to when necessary. There are several templates available online that will give your business card the look that you desire. Real estate business cards can convey the message that you are an independent realtor or it can show what area that you work with. Rather this is a design for apartments or houses or a specific city like New York Cit or Los Angeles with beautiful layouts, those designs will definitely enhance the look and feel of your business card. Your company will benefit in sales from a real estate business card that shows the areas of real estate you work in and the design should catch a potential client’s eye and keep them intrigued while they are holding onto your card. Consider adding clip art to your business card if you want a simple, yet effective design for your real estate business.

There are magnetic business cards that give your customers the assurance that they can place your card on the refrigerator and forget about it. Then the next day and a couple of weeks later your business card will still be around when the needs of your services are required. Your business card is not just another paper card. It has a feature that is almost guaranteed to get you business and boost your sales. Magnetic business cards are easily accessible and are a lot harder to lose, once you stick them and forget them. The refrigerator is not the only surface that your magnetic business card will stick too. File cabinets, lockers, and even cars can become places of advertisement for your business and its services.

Business Cards Printing brings out Corporate Identity the Easy Way

Business cards significance in the business industry cannot be over emphasized. In fact, it is the foremost tool used by businessmen and other business enthusiasts for networking their products and services.

We cannot deny the blatant fact that competition nowadays is pretty stiff. Anyone who takes it for granted and not lift a finger to compete will be way left behind. This is the very reason why businessmen and their pools of marketing experts are planning a wise and easy strategy to capture their target market. They are poring over marketing tools and advertisements. They want to conquer the mass media. But what is the easiest way to reach the top? Is it worth spending a lot?

For big companies, spending a big sum is of no worry. Obviously, they have the finances. Networking and marketing are essential to them to keep the goodwill and corporate identity. However, to starting businesses and to those still struggling, networking and marketing slash the pocket. Thus, making known their corporate identity is taxing for them. They cannot subscribe to pompous ads. They cannot spend more than what they have thus, an inexpensive alternative must be sought. Good thing we have handy and effective business cards to back them up!

Business cards may seem so tiny but they have the influence to boost your business.  They are not only effective but inexpensive as well. Compared to other networking and marketing tools, business cards are far more effectual and practical. Nevertheless, they must pass quality and meticulous planning, printing and distribution process so as to achieve their full potentials. Planning is the key factor why we have effective business cards. It is the initial phase where we get to conceptualize what we want to come up. Business cards printing is an essential phase in the undertaking. The design, colors, images and logo of business cards must instantly reflect the corporate identity of the business. The design and printing process must be of high-quality to have an excellent outcome. Bear in mind that catchy, meaty and functional business cards grab the thing that you desire most. Finally, business cards have to be delivered. But one common mistake interferes in the smooth-sailing process. This mistake must be avoided at all cost. And what is this big mistake? It is distribution to the wrong persons.  Hence, give business cards to your real business leads. Or else you will just be throwing away your hard-earned money!

Taking a Cue from the Experts

Experts, business owners, and consultants routinely post valuable information on a wide range of topics to article content hubs, also known as article directories. For example, you can find dozens of articles about customer service, with topics ranging from how to effectively resolve customer complaints to using customer service to build customer loyalty to the pros and cons of using retail greeters. If you're getting ready to launch a business, you can find step-by-step guides to writing a business plan, how to incorporate flexibility into your strategic plan, and how to diversify your revenue streams.

Similarly, you can keep abreast of the specific issues affecting your business by reading business news articles and business ethics articles. Likewise, small business articles can help you avoid many of the pitfalls that besiege owners of small companies, and prompt you to adopt best practices for your industry.

Valuable Marketing Tips

It's always a challenge to stay a step ahead of the game and market your business in a way that gives you a competitive edge. This is especially true when it comes to Internet marketing, since cutting edge strategies quickly and fluidly changes in response to the needs of the marketplace. An article content directory that emphasizes business articles can provide a wealth of information on topics ranging from email marketing, pay-per-click advertising, traffic building, Web design and development, and copywriting.

Scouting for Business Opportunities

Whether you're ready to launch a new business or simply wish to diversify your revenue streams, a business-oriented article content directory will showcase new business opportunities. It will also contain business articles that will help you evaluate opportunities and provide benchmarks to determine whether or not you are achieving your goals. Other articles will help to motivate you by giving you pointers on setting goals, visualizing success, and convincing those around you to buy into your dream.

Sharing Your Knowledge

If you have experience in business issues - whether on general business topics or in a narrow specialty - consider using an article content directory to share your knowledge. Your advice, tips, and roadmap to success are certain to help others who are seeking guidance. When you do, you have the added benefit of being able to promote your business or website by including a hyperlink in the resource box of your article.

Expanding Your Website

Your company's website serves to both create brand awareness and to provide visitors with valuable information that will encourage them to return often. Article content directories often allow website owners to reprint articles on their own sites, as long as proper attribution is given and the author's resource box remains intact. Reprinting business articles and other articles on topics of interest to your visitors can help you add high-value content to your website and expand its reach.

Business and the staffing challenge

Business in the UK face many challenges as the economy tightens but recruiting the right staff is one hassle that can be solved by working with good external recruitment consultants.
The search for suitable, motivated staff is one of the greatest challenges a business faces as this can change the dynamics of how the business performs.
Employee referral schemes
Many companies are now finding Employee Referral Schemes can successfully work and currently  38% of UK employers used employee referral schemes as a way of finding staff. Prospective candidates will generally tell their friends when they are thinking of a change. They could be friends of the staff members. Therefore, the staff members should know about the vacancies and be encouraged for referrals. They should be offered with good incentives for the same. If staff members are happily working with the organization, and are getting paid for introducing their friends, they would be eager to suggest the good candidates for recruitment.
Candidates who are familiar with the job market scene will be aware that not all recruitment agencies are equal. The intense competition that exists within the job market in general suggests that there are a large number of recruitment firms and many of them provide sub-standard services. This means that there are a limited amount of recruitment agencies which have what it takes to provide candidates with the recruitment solutions and results which they desire
Head Hunters
Finding the people you need to run your business is not an easy task and his is why many more businesses are turning to specialist recruitment companies to find the right staff.
Another challenge that businesses face are head hunters. Because in many industries there is such a skills shortage head hunters are recruited to find suitable staff in existing work from competitors companies. Head Hunter then matches these with available jobs.
The recruitment staff will then search their database of applications to identify suitable candidates for the position. Left uncontrolled, this can lead to successful companies bleeding staff and finding it difficult to deliver projects. As any manager or Director knows, finding the right staff for your business is essential.
The Internet
The internet is being used by more and more people for almost anything imaginable. Whereas some individuals use the internet for play and games, many are finding it very useful for work-related things. One site that is being used by many individuals and businesses is online recruitment. Example after example can be given showing how effective this is for helping someone find suitable employment.
There are many online recruitment companies on the web. Each of them offers you some unique feature to entice you into purchasing a membership and using their site. Often, there are review sites where you can do reviews on the online recruitment sites to see which one is used more and which one is rated higher. As with anything you purchase, it is always a smart idea to not sign up for the first thing you see. Some of them will show you an online recruitment example of what they can do to help you find employment or employee if you are a business that is seeking workers.
Summary
Whatever your decision about finding the right staff for your business you decide one thing you can be assured is that all business in most sectors are facing the same problem. Once you have recruited the staff then keeping them happy and retaining their services is for another time!

Business Aimed to Success - To Do List

Yola Eve
Business Trainer
VIP Quality Software

You need to find an ideal way of organizing and supporting your business. You can develop your own style, embrace your inner talents, find &#8220;your and only your&#8221; way to Success.

Every starting out specialist who is about to organize their own practice wants to be successful right from the start. How to do that? Where to find a perfect way to run private Biz? Does one have to spend years in order to become successful? I would say no to years and multiple business start outs.

Many people want and I say they can run their business perfectly well from the start, while continuing to develop. From my own experience, I went and I have talked to successful people. I learned about their mistakes, I put reminders for myself to achieve more at my starting level. And I did it.

They say that road to Success is hard-work. I would agree on that.
They say that if you are not born as a businessman you have to work hard for years to get the necessary skills. Well, I am not sure about that.
They say, this is my favorite one, that:
&#8220;He is just lucky&#8230; He has done nothing to obtain what he has already&#8230; He has a good karma.&#8221; LOL

There is a new tendency that I accepted and followed. I started to develop habits of rich people from the beginning. My business is small and it was only in my own efforts to run it properly. I had no accountants or business advisors in my family. None of my friends had their own ventures. I had nobody to turn to. Nobody could actually give me an idea how to run my business and organize myself successfully. But I have done it anyway. Thanks to the already successful people, psychologist and business trainers who have helped me to bring out the best in me.

I looked at them. I studied them. I worked with them. I did it all in order to fix my internal problems and fear of failure that was passed to me in my childhood. I am sure many people can relate to me. Because, our parents didn&#8217;t always know how to teach us in a better way. They were raised by their parents who have given them whatever they could. And sometimes these things are not best to work positively in our lives. Anyway, I worked through my problems, because I really wanted to be successful in my life. I was motivated to create better life for myself, my family and my child.

Everything happened for me the moment I understood that I can be successful and wealthy only if I develop something of my own. Something that works in my life. Something that could help other people to make their lives better.
But how to do that? How to find something of your own? How to develop and implement it in your business?

The search is actually not that long.

You put a goal and ask yourself:
&#8220;What is my, and only my, talent?&#8221;
The answer will come to you in time. Sometimes it can take a few months, sometimes a few days, sometimes a few minutes for the answer to come to you.

After that, you take another important thing and put it to work. Your faith.
Do you completely believe in yourself? If no, you should work on it. I wouldn&#8217;t give any advice here because every person completely differs from another. The answer is within you. The only common suggestion is to visit, once again, a successful and experienced specialist, psychologist, business trainer. Tell them what you need exactly, they will help you out.

Do another thing for yourself. Set a specific time and date for yourself when you want this faith to appear in you and you will be ready to start doing something. Time and date will help you organize yourself better. It will make you move forward faster because you have triggered your subconscious and super conscious mechanism in order to succeed. There is a saying that &#8220;If you really want something, the whole Universe will help you to achieve what you want.&#8221;

Now, back to our Success Stairs. You have to climb them.
Your fist successful step is to keep track of every work you do throughout a day. Believe with all your heart in everything that you do and list what you were doing in your small achievements To-Do List. That is how you will be able to keep track of what is done and what still needs to be done. That is how you will be able to gain more faith in everything you do.

Learn how to organize yourself. Set deadlines what and when needs to be done, created or finished. Set estimated time for every work that you do. That is a key to successful time management skills.

Make a to-do list of all your services sold to your customers. Create your own client database to keep track of your clients. Communicate with them to get to know their special needs and see if you can fulfill them and implement it in your business.

Put your computer, organizer, to-do list software to work. They will help you organize yourself better, concentrate on what your have to do and in what priority everything needs to be set. Let your organizer be your silent assistant. It will alarm you when you have to do something important step by step.

List your ideas for the future. Remember, you have to write them down. Brilliant ideas come and go. They have a tendency to vanish in our daily routine mind work. That is why your every idea, even crazy one, must be written down on paper or a computer. From my experience, these ideas accumulate and then some of them can bring you &#8220;your and only your&#8221; true Success.

P.S. Good luck in your Business. Be successful in everything you do.
Don&#8217;t forget to download for free your &#8220;how to organize your business&#8221; to do list.

Can Businesses Learn from the Military?

A few years ago I left the forces after serving a full 22 years. I joined the Army straight after leaving school; it still seems like yesterday when I walked into the careers office in Barnsley as a spotty eek. After numerous test, medicals and a 2 day assessment I was told I was going to be a vehicle mechanic ‘B’ in the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers), a right mouthful when I was full of beer and attempting to chat up a young filly. Funnily enough when I enrolled in the REME I was not told I would be spending the first year after basic training in a technical school, if I had known this prior I would defiantly have tried something else. During my career I became knowledgeable in a host of subjects, some unmentionable, the ones that are printable include; vehicle engineering, health and safety, human resources, general management. During my career I worked in some fantastically well organised, well managed places and unfortunately some not so good places. This leads me to the question; can a business really learn from the military? Since leaving the forces I have been involved in a few business ventures, generally poor unsuccessful ones. Looking back I honestly believe if the management of these businesses employed a more military type attitude they would have not failed so easily. So what do I mean by a military type attitude? I certainly do not mean acting like the cast of Bad Lads Army. This is what I mean: In normal business life the main motivator is money or the fear of the boot. This is probably why so many people nowadays change job so frequently. These should not be the only motivation tools a company employ. The Army uses the best motivation tool there is ‘Time Off’. Of course having your workforce at home most of the time is counter productive. In the early 90’s I managed a small vehicle workshop in Berlin. I had one military worker and one civilian. During the quiet periods I would call for the dice to be brought out, sometimes as early as 8am. The dice were thrown by all of us, the lowest combined score from 2 throws meant that person had to man the telephone all day, whilst the winners disappeared either home or to the local golf course. This management tactic as well as others ensured I had a happy workforce, production statistics don’t lie they showed an overall output increase. Other methods in different places included production meetings in the local pub, rewarding my hardest worker by giving him 5 days off; this certainly spurred the rest of the lads on and a host of other methods. Of course there were times when I worked with unmotivated, self opinionated, lazy soldiers, on these occasions I adopted a sterner approach. I then look at the majority of workers in everyday business life; I see they are generally unmotivated, unless they are self employed. I wonder if this is because they are not well managed. My guess would be they are not managed at all. My cousin works in a very busy establishment as soon as his boss leaves the office, everyone logs on to EBay. How counter productive is that? To conclude in my opinion many lessons can be learned from the British military in how to manage and run organisations. I should send my article to the BBC maybe they will run a programme on it, now that would be funny. About the author - Peter Arkwright recently retired from the military, he is now the Managing Director of www.bizseller4u.com A new portal that allows people to list their Business for Sale This article is free for republishing

Building A Home Internet Business To Make Home Income Online

Many people who search the internet to improve their standard of living simply don't know what it takes to make a home income online. This article includes the most important steps to build a home internet business which successfully generates online income. The world wide web offers anybody with a home computer and internet connection, the opportunity to set-up a home based business with a click of the mouse-but beginning to build a successful home based business is where the hard work, training, determination and excitement starts. Many thousands of people get totally depressed and disillusioned when they do not make any money online, after a few weeks of starting their own home based business. They simply do not appreciate the time and effort to build a successful home business. Starting a successful home based business is not a get rich quick overnight business. The maintaining aspect of your home internet business never slows, as you need to make constant changes, altering content, scripts, graphics and advertising to keep your site and content fresh with the aim of receiving targeted traffic and more importantly repeat customers. When you have successfully done this and hit pay dirt, you then will be making a great income online. How To Build A Home Internet Business 1. Your first objective is to make your website visible to as many people who are searching for what your home business offers. This involves advertising your home based business all over the internet-whether this includes pay-per-click ads, writing articles, building links to similar home income sites, banner advertising,or writing a newsletter. These are all very important methods to advertise your home internet business. 2. It is so important that you try and get a vast number of repeat customers to your site. Offering a free email newsletter is a very good example, and with your own autoresponder account set up,your visitors will be able to subscribe to your free email newsletter thus receiving quality content and information, with the result to purchase products /services from your website. Your list will grow, and effectively over time your sales will increase. 3. Also ensuring that your website is search-engine friendly is another very important factor. Achieving excellent ranking at Google,Yahoo and MSN for search results relating to your website virtually guarantees vast numbers of targeted traffic. Best of all this traffic is free. You can optimize your website for your chosen keywords yourself, but i suggest you research keywords first. Overture has an excellent keyword tool. Do a Google search for "overture keyword tool". 4. Building back-links to your website,is another great step to advertise on the internet. Linking to other similar niche websites makes the search engines index your website far quicker, and possibly giving you better search rankings. 5. Writing and submitting articles to article directories and other webpages is an effective and free way to advertise your site too!. This has to be done on a regular consistent basis to grow your online presence. The author resource box gives you an opportunity to anchor back to your website, using a targeted keyword or phrase. For a fee,you can hire a ghostwriter, to write articles for you-this is a great idea if you have money but no time to write!. 6. Post in work at home forums, with an anchor link to your website in your signature. These ideas can be totally free, and effectively your posts will be indexed by the search engines-giving you another free source of traffic. 7. Ppc or pay-per-click advertising is another way to receive targeted traffic to your website. The advantage of this is almost immediate-once you set an account up,add relevant keywords and phrases, write your ads and how much you want to spend etc-the traffic flows to your site. But It can be very costly,to the newbie or unexperienced. Tweaks and changes are to be made to find the most clickable ads which have a high click through rate, and which cost pennies/cents rather than pounds/dollars. Google, yahoo ,and msn are the big three search engine ads companies. But you can use the smaller ad companies too!. Adding Content To Your Home Internet Business Where your website or blog is concerned, it is extremely important to add new content continually, not only to please the search engines, but to add interest and excitement to your site also. You can expand your site by adding relevant but different keywords to new pages, this will attract new visitors, and ultimately new sales. Continually monitor your keyword rankings in the search engines, and keep a watchful eye on your competition. Make adjustments and improvements where necessary. Over time-as the presence of your home based business increases-so will the total volume of traffic to your website. As a rule of thumb- a goal of 400 unique visitors per day can be achieved by using the methods in this article. Maintenance For Your Website To be effective in maintaining your website, you need to regularly check that all your links are working, check download times, remove broken links, add different graphics, add fresh content. Keep your website up-to-date. Making Changes To Your Website There may be a time in the future that you are receiving thousands of targeted traffic to your site-but you are not making a steady stream of online income. What do you do. Take a very good look at your site. Are your adverts relevant to your products. Can your visitors find what they are looking for easily. Is your website easy to navigate and search. Is your website displaying other people's ads or banners. Is your sites colour scheme very bright or too dark,or are you offering out of date information or non-relevant content. Join a home based business forum, and ask to submit your site for an online review. There are also many forums dedicated to search engine optimisation, link building, writing and submitting articles. These forums will give you honest and precise feedback on your particular query or problem. There will be always someone to help you. Making A Great Income Online As you can see from above, there are many aspects involved in building a successful home internet business, but over time your business will grow and develop to where many thousands of people will view and buy from your website on a daily and ongoing basis. These people will have searched through Ppc ads, read your own articles, clicked on your website links etc to arrive at your site. Only then will you start making a great income online.

Find a Notary Public

loan signings and fingerprinting services at times and places other than during standard business hours or at routine locations (banks, title, attorney escrow and real estate offices) because many people can't afford the luxury of travel to a Notary Public’s office due to scheduling conflicts, disabilities, child care, working hours, or transportation problems. Mobile notary publics provide a broad range of services such as loan document signings, administering traffic school test, witness deeds of trust, and notarize immigration papers, that oaths, provide expert witness service in court, fingerprinting, and seal other official documents from the privacy of your own home or office. Mobile notary service has recently become a very popular career choice for individuals just looking to earn extra income or persons looking for flexible schedules. The mobile notary has become the icon for real estate, mortgage and title companies over the past 10 years. In many cases the notary is the only individual other than the appraiser that a borrower will physically see during a loan transaction. Before, one would usually have to pack the kids, get their identification, jump in the car and drive to the attorney, title or escrow office to sign important documents. Today, the mobile notary public will meet you at a specific time and location to and avoid you having to leave work early and fight traffic to get across town to the handle your business. With the aid of the Internet, it is awfully easy to find a mobile notary service these days as many commissioned notaries have their own websites, some banks and credit unions have notaries, but they usually won't travel to meet you. There are some Internet sites like needanotary net that provide an extensive listing of notaries, whose credentials have been verified by a human being. This provides and assures you confidence that the person you engage is a trusted professional. This also saves your from unnecessary phone calls to verify the capacity of the person you are considering engaging. These types of sites can put you into contact with local notaries that are within your local area or neighborhood. Some of these sites cater to businesses that use notaries as a core part of their business as well as to the general public. I personally would stay clear of any sites that require you to register, as they are usually contract service companies that normally charge you 30% - 50% extra, to dispatch a notary at your convenience. Dealing directly with the notary public will in most cases get you the best pricing. Most Internet sites allow you to enter your location via a zip code, city or county in order to find a notary. When you actually contact a notary and schedule an appointment, accurately describe the exact nature of what it is that you need done and where you are located and expect to meet, so they completely understand the task at hand and price it accordingly. Also make sure you completely understand the services to be provided and the fees for such services.

Breaking Business Plans Down to Smaller Steps

Most of us know what a business plan is. We know that it includes product information, marketing strategies, financing, facilities and a customer profile. Yet how many of us know that the comprehensive report is just a piece of paper without the commitment of the owner? That’s right it is “garbage” without strong psychological traits that help to adhere to the plan. A business plan changes depending on the personality strengths of the owner. Within the business plan it is beneficial to map out the financial budget for a certain length of time. In most businesses this plan includes all major expenses for the year. Adhering to a year plan may be difficult because they are not able to do that in their personal lives. For example, if one has a hard time saving 10% of their income how are they going to adhere to a budget that requires them to put money away for future development in their small business. The plan may include a year improvement plan but should be broken down into monthly or weekly goals so that the owner can follow it closely. Let’s say an owner wants to build additional fresh fruit space and it is going to cost him/her about 8,000 dollars. The owner hasn’t been able to put this money away for the past couple of years due to inability to stay committed. Then have them take $200 out of their earnings each week by writing a check and placing it in a box. At the end of the year they can count up the checks, rip them up and write one big one for their expansion project. The same applies to marketing. If an owner wants to market to everyone in his neighborhood who has children it doesn’t make sense to just state this fact and then not break it down into steps. For a small owner it may appear as though the task is too big him/her to handle. Break it down so that this month they will purchase the demographics list of homeowners with children, then the next week develop the sales letter, the third week turn it into the printer, so on and so forth. By breaking down larger business plans into small steps small managers are more able to keep focus on building and developing their long-term goals. Both the yearly and the monthly/weekly goals complement each other. The overall business plan acts as the ultimate improvement while the monthly/weekly goals acts like the road map. It is important to remember that the ultimate achievement of goals depends on the actually personality and traits of the owner. Writing out strategies that don’t follow the normal way they work and look at life is likely to be unfulfilled.

Create a Huge Monthly Income Stream

From: Monthly Income Stream Everybody would love to make lots of money quickly, working from home, and only doing a few hours of work per week. I've spent the past two years trying to find a great way of doing this. Only over the course of the past few months have I found any "get rich quick" programs worth buying. I've been trying to make money online for a long time. I had a few small websites, but they never made much more than a few hundred per month. It was easy money and didn't require much work on my part, but I knew there were people out there doing better than I was and I knew I could do as well as them. Now, I've seen a lot of "get rich quick" programs. Most of these people make claims about earning $2000/day with Google or something similarly insane. Almost all of these people are complete liars. Even if they were making $2000/day with Google AdSense, it'd be because they had high- traffic websites with a lot of quality content. I'd know, because in one whole month, I never even made half of what they promised I'd make daily with their programs. Maybe you've already been scammed by one of these fraudsters. Anyway, I finally got sick of what was being offered. I decided I'd look through the all of the "get rich quick" programs I could find and see if there were any that were actually legitimate. I found that there were owners selling their programs for well over $100, but the information in them could be found almost anywhere online for free. Additionally, they all contained out-of-date information, had no e-mail support, no money back guarantees, and broken links in the downloads section. In conclusion, almost all of the programs I found were completely useless. The owners knew it, but they couldn't care less about their customers since they didn't offer refund policies! Amazingly, while looking through all of the programs, I actually did find a few legitimate programs. They were run by ordinary people like you and me, and they had found some great methods of making money from their home by doing very little work. I spent some time working with those programs, and my income is now ten times what it used to be. These programs provided a large amount of great information on how to make extra money on your computer doing very little work. Numerous customers had provided great feedback and reviews for their products. Many of them have started to make money just days after buying!

China Business Travel 101

Ever wondered if you could deal directly with manufacturers... in China?! It's easier than you think.

First Impressions
I visited China in Autumn 2005 with a group of business associates and must admit that I was amazed, both by the warm reception we received wherever we went, and at the factories we toured. Having never been there before, and having only news accounts of "difficulties" between China and the U.S. to fuel my imagination, I assumed things would be overly formal and official at best… at worst, cold… and we would be "watched" constantly. I was so wrong on both counts. We were treated as welcome visitors and had only to ask the hotel staff for something to have it almost magically produced.

Lost in Translation
Outside of the hotels and manufacturing facilities, doing business in the streets and in small shops was, at most times, terribly difficult. We had arranged our factory visits and business meetings with our contacts in China, and there were no problems on that side when it came to language. But once we stepped out on our own, we rarely found anyone - even in tourist gift shops - who could communicate in English at all. Next time I visit China, I'll hopefully be armed with a few more basic Mandarin phrases, but for everyone visiting, even just for leisure, I'd recommend hiring translators to assist you.

Cash in China
Another word of warning: business owners back home in the States may be suitably impressed by your Gold Card, but to the Chinese shopkeeper it's just a pretty piece of plastic that won't buy a cup of Chinese tea. Even in the large cities, you're going to have to carry around Chinese Yuan (aka Renminbi) in cash if you want to be able to go shopping or eat at a restaurant. I have to say, the upside of this is that you won't find yourself going over budget. But with the incredibly low Chinese retail prices, that probably wouldn't happen anyway.

Low Retail Prices
Once you've overcome the communication difficulties you'll be amazed to find the bargains you'll find in the small shops. For a start, it's an electronics paradise. Just make sure you do your homework on what will and won't work back in the States. For example, you'll find that some Chinese DVD players, though remarkably low-cost, are manufactured to a Chinese standard that is not compatible with DVD discs sold in other parts of the world.

Factories in China
Our visit to a manufacturing plant in Huizhou left us all . . . well, 'impressed' hardly seems like a strong enough word. The building, on the outside was sort of drab looking with banners hanging here and there but inside was quite a different story. First of all we were treated as if we were VIPs instead of mid-level managers from Kenosha. Most importantly, however, the level of automation in this factory was remarkable, even by American standards and, when you look at the numbers, you see that the productivity is really impressive. It's no longer a mystery to this American why China is finding such a willing market in America.

Back Again
I wish I had more than the seven days we were able to stay in China, but it won't be long before I'm back, this time with a group of my friends who have been listening to me talking about the business opportunities since I got back… and who now want to go out there to get a piece of the action for themselves.

Data Entry – Covering The Basics

For some reason I have always wondered what data entry was really like. We have all seen at least one TV show or movie with someone in it who did data entry as a living. The person was always portrayed as being massively bored with his/her job, and with a desperate desire to get out and find a better and more glamorous position. Actually didn’t Chandler on friends do data entry for a while? I always thought that it seemed as if it would be a pretty tedious position and one that causes a lot of carpel tunnel and bad vision, not to mention a bad back from sitting in an invariably uncomfortable chair all day long. It also always seemed as if it was something that a trained monkey could do, not really that complicated or requiring too much brain power. I am still not 100% sure what it is like. I don’t think I can actually say I know anyone who does data entry, although I must. I mean it has to be a pretty big job class right? I mean every company in the word has data and I am pretty sure most of them need it entered into something at some point in time. There must be a lot of people to do this. Surely someone I have met does this. And actually after my recent discovery that you can do data entry at home I have to say I am considering it.

Continually Trying But Still Falling Short Of Your Business Goals?

Are you continually trying in the hope of earning the level of income you want from your Internet business activities? Is discouragement starting to creep into your thinking? Most people keep on trying in the hope of one day succeeding. However, you won’t succeed unless you address these two key factors. The first factor is "keep on trying". Some people do the same thing over and over again and never learn from the experience. It’s like continually running into a brick wall in the hope of eventually breaking through. Alternatively, they constantly join new affiliate programs or network marketing companies in the belief that this is the magic one to bring them riches. However, they never devote enough effort or attention to any one program to succeed in it. The second factor is "hope". For some people, they almost have a blind faith that they will succeed. Yet, they don’t understand what is involved in being successful. It’s almost as if they expect that one day circumstances will change and orders will flow in great abundance along with the profits. For me, the key to "trying until I succeed" is based on testing and tracking. It is like a circular process whereby an idea is implemented, the results are tracked and then evaluated, the idea is refined or modified based on what has been learnt, and the process starts all over again. If you aren’t earning what you want from your business, you have nothing to lose by applying this concept. First, look at what you are doing to promote your business. Are you using the same advertising you have always used? Do you know if it is working? Test a new headline and track the results. Test a new offer and see what happens to your sales. Only test one thing at a time so that you know what is causing any changes in your results. Once you have a good performing ad, use it as your benchmark against which all future tests are measured. The same concept can be applied to all your processes and procedures within your business. Make some changes and test whether they enable you to perform more efficiently and have more time to do the really important activities that generate revenue. Now let’s look at the second factor, "hope". I once read that genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. The same can be said of success. The 1 percent is in setting the goal and the 99 percent is working hard to achieve it. Success doesn’t just happen, it is created by sustained effort and continual learning. Hope certainly helps to sustain the effort required to succeed, but hope without effort is wasted. Success is based on many small wins that eventually lead to the big win. This understanding of what success really is helps the achievers do what needs to be done. It is applied to business through goal setting and planning. You set your goal and then determine what you need to do to achieve it. Most successful businesses utilize budgets and business plans as a formalized process of mapping out what is required to achieve the targets they have set. They then measure their results against these plans so that they know how well they are doing. This enables them to fine tune their plans to take into account new things they have learnt about their market-place and business. It also enables them to take corrective action before it is too late. To have the success you want in your business, plan how you are going to achieve it. Test the ideas you have and track the results. Use the knowledge gained to improve all aspects of your business. Be opening to learning opportunities so that you can adapt and modify your approach as circumstances change.

Computer Consulting: Diversify Your Clients

Make sure that you never get to the point that any one computer consulting client has control over you. None of them should have such supreme leverage over you that you couldn’t afford to either lose them because of something that’s either out of your control or because you want to let them go. Spread Out Your Risk Among Your Computer Consulting Clients This is all about diversifying. Think about building your client portfolio like a mutual fund portfolio. It’s very similar with marketing where you’re using a couple different vehicles to give yourself some balance and lessen the risk a little bit. If you have one particular computer consulting client that is your bread and butter, meaning that that’s the one who’s actually paying the bills, what you probably have is a part-time job. You don’t have a business. If they say jump, you really have to jump. The Magic Number of Computer Consulting Clients For a solo practitioner computer consultant, you don’t want to have a couple dozen or a couple hundred clients because it’s really hard to give tremendous service to them and be able to be as responsive to them as you need to be. The ideal number is usually 10 to 20 at the most. It should never be below 8 because then individual clients will have too much leverage on you. How Do You Find More Ideal Clients? If you find that you do have one client, you need to ask yourself a couple of questions. How unique are their needs? Could you cookie cutter this and could you find other clients that are just like them? Take a long, hard look at what you’ve done for this one client. What are their biggest problems that you’ve solved? What are the biggest problems that you haven’t yet solved? Figure out where you’re going to find other businesses that are just like them. Then you won’t be caught in a losing power struggle. Copyright MMI-MMVI, Computer Consulting Blog. Building a Strong Business Relationship

When it comes to business and sales, building a strong relationship is critical. The stronger your relationship is with your customer, the more likely they will be to refer you business. Every day, make an attempt to build on the relationships you have with your customer. Don’t just say hi as they walk in and goodbye as they leave. The last thing you want to do is make your customer feel like a statistic. Let them know that their business with you is appreciated. Talk to them, strike up a non-business conversation with them. It could involve just about anything, such as the weather, sports, a movie, pets, etc. Non-business conversation puts your customer at ease and gets them talking. The more they talk to you, the more they will open up to you, opening the door for more sales opportunities. Or, you can keep it simple. For starters, get to know you customers by name, than address them by name. Say things such as, “how’s it going today?” Or “how was your weekend?” Or “is there anything I can help you with today?” Make your presence known and felt. Your customer wants to be appreciated, so take a few minutes of your time to show them that you care about them as a customer. Another way to strengthen your relationship with your customer is to keep a Rolodex handy with a list of all of your customers birthday’s, anniversaries, and special events. Keep your eyes and ears open for when customers talk about up coming events in their lives. Such as children’s birthdays and graduations. When the appropriate date approaches, send your customer a card, wether it is a holiday card, a birthday card, a graduation card, or a congratulatory card. Just send it. Your customers will appreciate the fact that you remembered them on their special day. This will only strengthen the relationship you already have with them. There are many reasons to build a strong relationship with your customer, but two of the reasons remain to be key. One main reason is that customers value and appreciate good customer service. They want the piece of mind of knowing that if something ever happened with their product or service, that they would have you to turn to as their go to person. This is extremely important because your customer will have this in mind when your competition moves in to take them away. And believe me, your competition will try to take them away. As long as you provide excellent customer service, your customer will stick with you. There is no substitute for excellent customer service. Customer service is the most important thing to a customer, even more important than fees’. The second reason building relationships are so important is because of the referral process. A customer that is treated with respect and provided excellent customer service will most assuredly refer their family and friends to you. Why wouldn’t they? Your most important asset is your customer, so build and strengthen the foundations you have with them. Buy building strong relationships, you will be building your sales. Good luck. Choosing A Paper Eating Monster

These days, a home shedding machine is almost a necessity. With the constant barrage of credit card offers, bills, and bank statements that hit our mailbox everyday, it is no wonder that close to 1 million people are victims of identity theft each year. Whether you live in a house or an apartment complex, there are usually several points where your trash could possibly be accessed and documents stolen. The majority of apartment complexes don’t have secure trash chutes and it can in fact be very easy for dumpster divers to gather data about the apartment dwellers. In some apartment complexes there are locked trash chutes which are great for the inhabitants because it limits access to the dumpsters to basically the maintenance map and in the trash collectors. However, shredding sensitive data is not that hard, and might make your life easier in the long run. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a home paper shredder. Durability is important: You want a machine that is strong and will blast through lots of documents without jamming and without needing repair. Some document shredders are simply too weak, and will jam if you try to shred more than a few pieces of paper at a time. Cutting method: There are several types of cuts available, ranging from plain old strip cuts (the least secure, but often adequate), to confetti cuts which cut the paper into much finer strips and also cross cut, which cuts the paper in more than one direction. For most home documents, a plain old strip cutter may be all that is needed. The idea is to prevent a dumpster diver from getting a hold of your financial information, and I'd venture to guess that few to none would be patient enough to reconstruct a strip-shredded document. You can find a reasonably priced home paper shredder on eBay, at Office Depot, or in one of many online web stores. Here are a few features and characteristics of the document shredder to consider before buying: Clearing Paper Jams: How easy is it too clear minor paper jams? It's a little like putting your hand in the garbage disposal so you want to be sure that it is reasonably easy to get the machine running again because paper jams are inevitable. Safety features: You wouldn't want a curious infant sticking his fingers in the metal teeth of the paper eating monster. Are there safety features on the home paper shredder if you have infants or small children around? You may also find yourself wanting to shred items with staples and paper clips, CDs, credit cards, ID cards, and floppy disks...Some home systems are strong enough to handle these materials in small volumes and might be worth checking into because these are items tend to accumulate around your home office. Lastly, remember that some security is better than none: If you are on a tight budget there is one last solution: A pair of sharp scissors. Business Letters: Do You Really Know What They Are?

Copyright © Shaun R. Fawcett My two “writing help” Web sites receive well over two million visitors per year looking for information and templates to help them with their writing. With that many visitors I get a pretty accurate idea of exactly what people are looking for in the way of letter writing help. In fact, a significant number of people arrive at my site based on the search phrase “business letter”. Now, at first glance the term “business letter” makes sense. But, just wait a minute here! What exactly do they mean by “business letter”? Well, it turns out that they’re not sure. What it boils down to in many cases is that the person doing the search is involved in some kind of “business” (as owner or employee) and they need to write some kind of “letter” related to their business. Hence, their search phrase of “business letter”. I often get e-mails from people asking me if I have any business letter templates, or if I can write them a business letter. Invariably, I have to reply to them asking “what type of business letter, what is the specific purpose”? The fact is; “business letter” is a very general term that can mean one of many different specific letter types. Accordingly, the rest of this article is going to explain exactly what business letters are. Despite the widespread use of e-mail in commerce today, traditional business letters are still the main way that the majority of businesses officially communicate with their customers and other businesses. This is especially true when businesses want to formalize an agreement or an understanding. So far, emails are great for all of the preparatory work, but a formal business letter is still most often needed to "seal the deal". There are two overall categories of business letters: business-to-business, and business-to-customer. BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS LETTERS Most business-to-business letters are written to confirm things that have already been discussed among officials in meetings, on the telephone, or via e-mail. Can you imagine the letters that would have to go back and forth to cover all of the questions and possibilities that can be covered in a one-hour meeting, a half-hour phone call, or a few quick e-mails? The main purpose of a typical business letter is to formalize the details that were arrived at in those discussions, and to provide any additional information that was agreed upon. Over the years, certain general standards have evolved in the business world that the vast majority of businesses use in drafting their business to business correspondence. The Top 10 business-to-business letters that people search for at my writing help Web sites, in order of popularity, are as follows: 1. thank you letter 2. introduction letter 3. cover letter 4. financial letter 5. marketing letter 6. sales letter 7. project letter 8. invitation letter 9. employee letter 10. congratulations letter Even though the above terms are much more specific than the general term “business letter” there are multiple types of each of the above letters, depending on the purpose of the letter. For example, a business-to-business “financial letter” could be: collection letter, credit approval letter, credit refusal letter, invoice, price quotation, etc. BUSINESS TO CUSTOMER LETTERS There are many different types of business-to-customer letters. They include: sales and marketing letters, information letters, order acknowledgement letters, order status letters, collection letters, among others. As with business-to-business letters, over the years certain general standards have evolved in the business world that the vast majority of businesses use in drafting letters to existing and potential customers. Of course, going in the other direction are customer-to-business letters. These include: order letters, order status inquiry letters, complaint letters, and others. Since these are customer-generated letters, there is no particular expectation that they follow any particular letter- writing standard. Typically, they are handled just like any other piece of personal correspondence. The Top 10 business-to-customer letters that people search for at my writing help Web sites, in order of popularity, are as follows: 1. cover letter 2. customer relations letter 3. financial letter 4. credit letter 5. introduction letter 6. order-status letter 7. sales letter 8. marketing letter 9. announcement letter 10. apology letter Similar to the situation with business-to-business letters covered in the previous section; even though the above business-to-customer letter types are much more specific than the general term “business letter”, there are also multiple types of each of the above letters, depending on the purpose of the letter. For example, a business-to-customer “customer relations letter” could be any one of : response to a complaint, follow-up with a new customer, interrupted service notice, letter of acknowledgement, special invitation, welcome to new customers, etc. BOTTOM-LINE As you can see from the above, specifying that you are looking for a “business letter” is not very enlightening. You need to be specific and define the purpose of the letter; that is, exactly what is the letter meant to communicate? It’s important not to confuse non-business letters with business letters. For example: job application letters, cv and resume cover letters, employment and college related letters of recommendation, character references, resignation letters, etc. are NOT business letters. You might be surprised to learn that over 75% of all visitors to my main writing help Web site are searching for information on how to write just the Top 20 letters listed above. In fact, it turns out that a full 90% of the more than 1 million people that visit that site each year looking for letter writing help are looking for help with one of a list of 25 letters. That’s why all of my letter writing toolkits focus on multiple variations of about 40 specific letter types that cover over 95% of ALL letters ever written.

Business Card, Here To Stay?

For as long as I have been alive (all of 27 years) business cards have been a very popular way to solidify a contact. Printing of the cards has gotten to be more quality for less money and so everyone and their brother has a business card. When I was real young it was a phone number and maybe a fax number if the office was real up and coming on the technology scene. Now technology has taken over business to the point that it is a valid question whether or not there will be business cards in the future. Are they really necessary? Well at one time yes it was a great idea and people actually held on to a business card and used them as a contact card that they would pop in their rolodex. Now no one has a rolodex and it would take just as long to look someone up in the online yellow pages than it would to flip to the right rolodex file to look up a name and a number. So basically I think that they are out as we know them. That is not to say that they are out for good. No technology has a way of finding a way to stick around. Now we are seeing business cards in the form of mini cd-roms that not only have the name and address but also a personal introduction to the person and work of the giver as well as a overview of the company for which the donor works. This can be as simple as a pdf file or as complicated as an animated tour with interactive features. We are also seeing things like an electronic business card that can be sent to one another with wireless connections between portable digital devices. This is becoming the thing to do and the business card can automatically update a contacts list in that person’s default email software. So the little paper business card that used to be all the rage is phasing out but the concept is not dead. Rather it is taking on a life of its own with technology and ingenuity being its vitality. Who knows maybe in the not too distant future we will have holographic business cards that can be sent from the chips in our wrist that also contain all the other information that we used in our daily life including our shopping lists and bank account information.
